Rachel Pickering
Rachel, the daughter of Glenn and Gwen Pickering expressed her love of teaching from a very young age. At the tender age of three she told a classroom full of adult students “I’ll be the teacher now.” Rachel’s love of learning has helped her through the years as she has practiced perfecting her teaching skills.
The TAG concepts have been an integral part of Rachel’s understanding of the world since she was 15 – the day her father came home and couldn’t stop talking about his new discovery. She loves to help lead TAG seminars, where she can literally see people’s lives being transformed, just as her and her parent’s lives have been powerfully transformed.
Since the age of 16, Rachel has worked for Concordia Language Villages at El Lago del Bosque, a Spanish immersion camp. Her years of working with children from all walks of life have helped her to grow tremendously in her ability to teach and to connect with people from all over the globe. Many of Rachel’s parenting ideals and beliefs stem from her time working and living with the children at her beloved village.
Rachel is a graduate of Knox College with a degree in International Relations and a minor in Latin American Studies. She is currently studying counseling psychology as a graduate student at Loyola University Maryland and co-writing a parenting book with her dad.
